Consumer Confidence Report

The City of Fort Scott is proud of the quality of the water that it produces for her citizens. In a continual effort to keep the citizens apprised of that quality, we annually provide a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR).  The contents and format of the Consumer Confidence Report that is made available to the public is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Because of this structure, the CCR can sometimes be confusing in wording to those outside of the water industry. If, after reading the CCR, you have any questions regarding the quality of the water please contact Scott Flater or Michael Mix at the Water Production Plant at 223-5160.  View the latest Consumer Confidence Report (PDF)

Kansas Department of Health & Environment

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is the department within the State of Kansas that has primacy for enforcement of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) regulations. The Public Water Supply Section of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Bureau of Water is charged with regulating all public water supply systems in the state to ensure safe drinking water. The section oversees more than 1,000 public water supply systems including municipalities, rural water districts, and privately owned systems. These systems may serve small communities of several families or cities of more than 300,000 persons.
