Water service is provided by the City of Fort Scott.
The water filtration plant has a maximum capacity of 6 million gallons of water per day. The average daily usage is 2.5 million.
Customers outside the city limits pay one and one-half times the rate for customers inside the city limits (not applicable to Rural Water Districts).
A water protection fee of 3.2 cents per gallon applies to all water sold (this is a State assessment).
