NEWS RELEASE - AQUATIC CENTER OPENING

The Fort Scott Aquatic Center is opening! May 28th at 1:00 pm the Fort Scott Aquatic Center will officially open its doors. If you plan to join us for the opening day, please make sure you bring your patience! The first day will be both exciting and chaotic. In order to cut down on the wait time and address potential problems before they occur, the City and Aquatic Center staffs want to clarify how things will work the first day.

Because we want as many people as possible to experience the pool the first day, we will NOT be allowing entrance with season passes that day. Every person who wants to enter the pool will need to pay a two dollar entry fee. This is a discounted rate for adults. We are charging across the board because the pool has a capacity limit and we don’t want citizens to be waiting in a membership line and not get to experience the pool.

We will begin selling season passes this weekend to be used for the rest of the summer. Passes will be sold on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-4:00 and on Monday beginning at 8:00am.  If you would like to purchase a season pass, you will need to do so at the Aquatic Center. All family members who are going to be on the pass will need to be present. If you would like to expedite the process, forms can be printed out from our website and Facebook page, filled out, and brought to the Aquatic Center. Remember, even if you purchase your pass early, you can’t begin using it to enter the pool until the 29th.

We will also begin taking reservations for private parties on the 28th. If you would like to have a private party at the pool you may reserve it from 8:00-10:00pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings throughout the summer. Special consideration may be made for parties on weeknights. Reservation fees are $100 per hour. Reservations must be made at the Aquatic Center.

We are excited to be opening this wonderful new addition to our great town. We hope you will all join us in celebrating! Keep checking our Facebook page and website for more updates and information.
