ORDINANCE NUMBER 3054:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12.28.050, 12.28.060, 12.28.070, AND 12.28.080 OF THE FORT SCOTT MUNICIPAL CODE DEALING WITH BOATING FEES OF THE CITY OF FORT SCOTT, BOURBON COUNTY, KANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FORT SCOTT, BOURBON COUNTY, KANSAS:
SECTION 1. 12.28.050 – MOTORBOAT LICENSE APPLICATION FEES:
SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
A license fee for the operation of a motorboat shall be paid to the City Clerk on an annual basis. The yearly license fee for all person for motorboats of less than 25HP shall be $15.00, and for motors of 25HP or more, $25.00. The amount of horsepower (HP) shall be determined by the manufacturer’s ratings.
SECTION 2. 12.28.060 – MOTOR LICENSE TEMPORARY FEES:
SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
A. Persons not desiring to buy an annual license fee shall be permitted to purchase a temporary license upon the same terms and conditions as the annual license for a period of two (2) days. The fee for the temporary license shall be $5.00 for motors of less than 25HP and $10.00 for motors of 25HP or more.
B. Persons who are engaged in the business of selling motorboats may obtain a yearly license, which would allow the testing of such motorboats on Lake Fort Scott between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM. The fee for such license shall be $75.00 per year.
SECTION 3. 12.28.070 – ROWBOAT LICENSE APPLICATION FEES:
SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Persons desiring to operate a rowboat on the lake shall make application to the City Clerk and obtain a license therefore and the annual license fee shall be $6.00
SECTION 4. 12.28.080 – SAILBOAT LICENSE APPLICATION FEES:
SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Persons desiring to operate a sailboat on the lake shall make application to the City Clerk and obtain a license on the same form prescribed for the application for a motorboat license. Such license is required before the operation of any sailboat. The annual license fee shall be $15.00.

ORDINANCE NUMBER 3208
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE BASIC MONTHLY CHARGE FOR SANITARY SEWER RATES IN THE CITY OF FORT SCOTT BY AMENDING CHAPTER 13.24.100 AND 13.24.110 OF THE FORT SCOTT MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FORT SCOTT, BOURBON COUNTY, KANSAS.
SECTION 1. CHAPTER 13.24.100 OF THE FORT SCOTT MUNICIPAL CODE SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE –BASIC MONTHLY CHARGE.
A. Each contributor shall pay a user charge rate of $13.75 per month which will
Be the minimum base charge per month and include usage up to the first three hundred cubic feet of water metered.
B. The charge for each one hundred cubic feet of water metered beyond the base rate is $1.26 per one hundred cubic feet.
SECTION 2. CHAPTER 13.24.110 OF THE FORT SCOTT MUNICIPAL
CODE IS REPEALED.
This Ordinance shall be effective after its passage and publication in the official City newspaper.

AN ORDINANCE SETTING NEW WATER RATES AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 3311 FOR THE CITY OF FORT SCOTT, BOURBON COUNTY, KANSAS, PURSUANT TO THE FORT SCOTT MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTER 13.04.030.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FORT SCOTT, BOURBON COUNTY, KANSAS:
SECTION 1. The water rates to be charged to customers of the Water Department of the City of Fort Scott, Kansas shall be as follows:
THE NEW RATES WILL BE EFFECTIVE THE FIRST FULL BILLING CYCLE FOLLOWING THE ADOPTION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND THE SAME BILLING CYCLES IN 2007 AND 2008.
2006
• Minimum Usage- Minimum charge per month for up to 200 cubic feet (1,496 gallons) will be $9.99.
• For the next 4,800 cubic feet of usage (35,904 gallons), the charge will be $2.55 per 100 cubic feet.
• For the next 10,000 cubic feet of usage (74,800 gallons), the charge will be $2.29 per 100 cubic feet.
• For each 100 cubic feet of usage thereafter (748 gallons), the charge will be $1.64.
2007
• Minimum Usage – Minimum charge per month for up to 200 cubic feet (1,496 gallons) will be $9.99.
• For the next 4,800 cubic feet of usage (35,904 gallons), the charge will be $2.81 per 100 cubic feet.
• For the next 10,000 cubic feet of usage (74,800 gallons), the charge will e $2.52 per 100 cubic feet.

• Minimum Usage- Minimum charge per month for up to 200 cubic feet (1,496 gallons) will be $9.99.
• For the next 4,800 cubic feet of usage (35,904 gallons), the charge will be $3.09 per 100 cubic feet.
• For the next 10,000 cubic feet of usage (74,800 gallons), the charge will be $2.77 per 100 cubic feet.
• For each 100 cubic feet of usage thereafter (748 gallons), the charge will be $1.98.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after the passage and publication in the official City Newspaper.
SECTION 3. ORDINANCE 3313 IS HEREBY REPEALED
